TREY POKER PRO - RULES & INFO

About the Game

Trey Poker gives you two different ways to win playing three-card poker, allowing you to not only double your fun but to take a shot at some big bonus payouts if you’re lucky enough to hit a royal flush or other big hand while playing.

Game Rules

Trey Poker Rules

Trey Poker Professional Series offers two separate games to play: Ante/Play and Pair Up. Trey Poker is played with one deck of 52 cards that are shuffled before each round. You can choose to play either or both of the games simultaneously. If you decide to play both games at the same time, you can bet different amounts (or the same bet) on each game,

  • Ante/Play Game. In the Ante/Play Trey Poker version, you’re competing against the dealer to see who can put together the best three-card poker hand. After placing an Ante bet you receive three cards. You then make a Play bet (equal to the Ante bet) or Fold and surrender the ante bet. If you Play, your three-card hand is compared with the dealers. Winnings are paid out according to the normal and bonus payout tables.
  • Pair Up game. In the Trey Poker Pair Up game, you bet on the quality of your three-card poker hand, independent of the dealer's hand, and win on hand combinations of a pair or better. Depending on the casino offering Trey Poker you may lose the Pair Up bet if you fold on the Ante bet. Remember, you’re solely betting on how good your own 3 card hand is, and the dealer’s hand doesn’t come into play at all.

How to play

Playing Ante/Play

Play the Ante/Play game by doing the following:

  • Place an Ante bet. Place a bet on the Ante circle. If you decide to also play the Pair Up game, place your bet on the Pair Up circle as well.
  • Initiate the deal. Click Deal. A three card hand is dealt to you face up, and a three card hand is dealt face down to the dealer.
  • Play or Fold. Assess the cards you were dealt and choose one of the following:
    • Click Play if you think you have a hand that can beat the dealer. A Play bet equal to the ante is then placed in the Play betting circle. The dealer's hand is revealed and your hands are compared, with the winner being the person with the best three card Trey Poker hand.
    • Click Fold if you think you do not have a winning hand and wish to end the game. You lose the Ante bet (and any Pair Up bet; depending on the casino offering Trey Poker.)
  • View the result. The game displays the result of the Ante/Play showdown between you and the dealer. The dealer must have a queen or better to qualify. You are paid out according to the Ante Game Results and Ante Game Payout, see Ante results and normal payout and Ante bonus payout. If you are playing Pair Up the result is displayed and you are paid out according to the Pair Up payout.
Note: For information about hand ranking and betting help, see Hand Ranking and Betting help.

Hand rankings

Three Card Poker hand ranking from highest to lowest is:

HandDescriptionExample
Royal Straight Flush A, K, Q of the same suit.
Straight Flush Three cards of the same suit in order, where ace can count as high or low. When comparing two hands with a straight flush the one with the highest ranked card wins.
Three of a Kind Three cards of the same rank or value. When comparing two hands with a three of a kind, higher ranks beat lower ranks (K K K beats Q Q Q).
Straight Three consecutive cards of mixed suits. When comparing two hands with a straight the one with the higher ranked cards wins. Ace can count as high or low. A-K-Q is highest type of straight and 3-2-A is the lowest. 2-A-K is not a straight, though, as straights cannot wrap around the bottom and top of card values.
Flush Three cards of the same suit. When comparing two hands which both have a flush, the hand with the highest card values wins.
Pair Two cards of equal rank and one of a different rank, such as 5-5-A. When comparing two hands with a pair, the highest ranked pair wins.
High Card Three cards of different ranks, not consecutive, and not all the same suit. When comparing two such hands, the highest cards are compared first. If they are equal, the middle cards are compared, and then the lowest cards. For example K-5-2 beats, Q-9-6, which beats Q-9-5.
